According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, monsoon clouds arrived the country from the east and have enter in Province 1, Province 2 and Bagmati Province. As per Raju Pradhan, a senior meteorologist, ” The monsoon entered the country on Friday afternoon and brought some rainfall.” However, it is believed that spreading of the clouds across the country will take some time.
Usually monsoon season in Nepal begins on June 10 and ends on September 23.
According to meteorologist Pradhanang, this year’s monsoon arrival, however, can be considered early as the weather office had expected the monsoon from June 13.
The monsoon is likely to be active from next week and there is a huge chance of rains in various parts of the country, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology. The Department has urged people living in river banks and other flood and landslide risk zones to stay alert in the coming days.
There is expectations of more than average rainfall during monsoon this year.
