The Ribs School has won the title of ‘First Open U-12 Inter-School Futsal Tournament’ organized by Swostishree Gurukul. Ribs School defeated Swostishree Gurukul by 2-0 in a penalty shootout to clinch the title. In the final match played on Friday, Swostishree Gurukul‘s Futsal Court was tied 1-1. After that, Ribs won the match on penalty and the organizer Swostishree had to settle for the runner-up. Ardashvidya Mandir (AVM) defeated The Excelsior School and secured third position. Deep Khatri of Swostishree Gurukul School was declared the best player in the competition while Ayush K.C. was chosen the best goalkeeper.
Similarly, Euro School Chhauni won the ‘Fair Play’ trophy. The best schools of Kathmandu Valley participated in the ‘First Open U-12 Inter-School Futsal Competition’ inaugurated by the former captain of the Nepal National Football Team and football ambassador of Swostishree Gurukul, Mr. Anil Gurung, founder president of the school Ram Krishna Chitrakar and managing director Mina Maharjan.
The teams participating in the three-day Futsal competition were divided into four groups and competed on the basis of league-low knockout. The first day was the leak stage, the second day was the knockout stage and the semifinals, and the final day was the final. Vice President of the National Sports Council Shiva Koirala Jwala was the chief guest at the program presided over by Ram Krishna Chitrakar, Founder President of Swostishree Gurukul School. ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar and Vice President of Nepal School Sports Federation Mohan Bahadur Karki were the special guests on the program. The program was attended by the school’s educational director Prabin Mottan, school coordinator Hari Prasad Sanjel, extracurricular activities coordinator Rakesh Kumar Rai, IBPYP coordinator Maqsood Alam, and others. The program was conducted by Chirag Bandel, Director of Information and Communication of the school.
