Dozens of women have filed lawsuits against Pornhub’s parent company, Mindgick, for running a “classical criminal enterprise”. A joint lawsuit was filed on Thursday alleging that the company was profiting from intentional rape, child sexual abuse, revenge porn and other forms of consensual sex.
The lawsuit was filed in the federal district court in California on behalf of 32 victims of child pornography, rape and human trafficking. According to a statement prepared by the lawyer of Bron Rudnik LLP on behalf of the victims, a woman has alleged that she made a profit by posting a video without her consent.
“It’s a case of rape, not pornography,” the chargesheet said. The law firm is seeking the protection of thousands of victims in the coming days, in addition to compensating for the terrible damage done to the victims. According to the law firm, Mindgick operates more than 100 pornographic websites, including Pornhub, Redtube and Euporn, which collect a total of 3.5 billion views each month. Millions of videos were removed last December when the policy was first implemented. “The allegations that Pornhub is a criminal enterprise are baseless and false,” the company said.
This is not the first time Mindgick has faced the issue of its library of millions of porn videos. MasterCard, Discover and Visa severed ties with Pornhub last December after the New York Times wrote a column on unsolicited and illegal content.
At the time, Pornhub had denied the allegations. At the same time, he introduced a number of reforms to his policy, including detection systems and verification regulation.
